B is for Carpenter

when i was in high school, i did (for a season) woodworking - part of the trilogy of evil (Technical Drawing, Woodworking, Metal Work). the first and the last i hated (especially metal work "practical", the theory was ok)... but WOODWORKING i loved.

made a towel rack.

that was fun actually.

the thing is that in woodworking, comes wood splints, cuts and the possibility of accidents.

the more you woodwork, the more your hand changes.

Jesus Had Rough Hands.

as i sent in a text to a friend of mine, "consider... Christ got the wood splinters before he was nailed to one. the man was a carpenter's son, imagine how much wood splinters and edges may have hurt him growing up."

the image an entire faith is based on is that of the cross and rightfully so. that was his mission. but people very rarely (i think) bother to look at or try to figure out all that surrounds The Man.
here was the Divine Son growing up in the care of his father Joseph (later called jonathan kent) a carpenter... a man who used his hands. it is more than logical that He too (Jesus) would've also created via carpentry.

calloused hands. nicked with wood splints, maybe the occasional accident... Human and yet... altogether Divine.

somehow that's comforting. Christ had rough hands. hands that weren't afraid of work.

  3. i also got this angle out of it: i was reminded that wat we go thru life prepares us for our purpose on Earth. (we've got another purpose which is ultimate ie.worship GOD) but i'm refering to the purpose on earth.

wat we're going thru iz closely related to our purpose. i think of the pain of the wood splinters that damaged Jesus' hands and i think of the wooden cross that he wuz hung on.

B is for Loving Boys

90's boy love - Joey n Chandler.... a moment of randomness between Catharsis videos There are boys I love . And they love me. And we’re open about it. Just last Saturday I got a text message from one of those boys who said “I love you too man” in response to something I said. My boys are artists, artistes, atheists, and agirl (who is in fact one of the boys so hence the addition to the category) fathers, brothers and high school musicals (Jed and Umar will get that one – lol). We share ideas, music, random nothingness and Brent Worthington . We approve, reprove and listen to each other. I think the girl that I end up with must in fact be like the boys I love. Good looks aside… please… have some substance. One of my boys is appalled that I watched Gossip Girl (if you’re going to bash it… know what it is first) and has for this [and other minor reasons] jokingly labeled me a homosexual. But he who looks like Miley Cyrus with rainbow bandanas should not talk [chuckles]. I love my
